The idea behind Orquídeas Moxviquil, in its simplest form, is to maintain for future generations a small sampling of the vast and varied lifeblood of Mexico’s living natural wonders. To maintain an area where today and tomorrow people may visit and share in the beauty and wonder of these most graceful, fanciful and simply extraordinary handiworks of evolution.

Orquídeas Moxviquil also proposes to be a location for the dispersal of vital information for future scientific studies, as an location open to all people, to all walks of life and as a resource that will reach out to others to help form Orchid societies and satellite Jardín de Orquídeas in other diverse areas in Chiapas and Mexico.

The jardines will also be an area bringing together like minded people to share the wonders of orchids, and all plant and animal life. Reaching further afield we will be a source, a springboard to encourage campesino groups to take control of the destiny of their wild lands by helping them preserve sections that are virgin and unexploited and to help them establish nurseries to seed, grow and produce flowers and plants for local and export markets.

And finally as a clearing ground for new and exisiting information about the wonders of orchids, epiphytes and the natural beauty of Mexico and the world. An oasis surrounded by the natural beauty of Chiapas.
